Thai Railway Museum

🚞 The State Railway of Thailand has renovated the front building of Bangkok Railway Station on the west side to become the office of the Thai Railway Foundation and the Thai Railway Museum. The foundation was officially registered on July 3, 2015. 🚂 The main objective of the Thai Railway Foundation is to raise funds for the establishment and operation of the Thai Railway Museum, making it a learning center for studying, exchanging, researching, and developing rail transport systems. 🚆 Additionally, the foundation supports and promotes the use of rail transport technology, providing grants and awards for those interested in developing knowledge in rail transport technology. The Thai Railway Museum has two floors: 🚄 The ground floor exhibits tools and equipment used in railway operations and railway hotels, including old items that are either still in use or have been retired, such as porcelain plates and bowls from the reign of King Rama V, hard train tickets, date stamping devices, signal lanterns, telegraph machines, wind-up clocks, and benches made from decommissioned railway sleepers. 🚄 The souvenir shop sells items such as picture frames, train tickets, t-shirts, hats, bags, refrigerator magnets, business card holders, paperweights, and more. 🚇 The upper floor displays a royal chair from the reign of King Rama VII, posters warning of railway dangers, and a corner simulating the atmosphere of being on a train for visitors to take photos as souvenirs. ♨️ Thai Railway Museum: 191 Rong Muang Road, Rong Muang Subdistrict, Pathum Wan District, Bangkok 🎯 Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/uyrfDBXmYFho44Lf8 🕘 Opening hours: 09:00 – 17:00 (Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays)
