The crater was filled with a strong smell of sulfur. As soon as I inhaled it, I felt a choking and stinging pain in my nose, my throat was dry and itchy, I started coughing non-stop, and I couldn't help but cry. I felt really uncomfortable at the time and just wanted to leave this place filled with sulfur smoke as soon as possible. However, my husband was still immersed in taking pictures, concentrating on capturing this rare sight, and I could only stand aside and wait. Fortunately, after a few minutes, the smoke gradually dissipated with the wind, the vision became clear, and the scene before us was breathtaking - a surreal and magnificent view! All the hard work instantly became worth it. This is one of the most dreamy and shocking scenery we have ever seen in our lives. Although the process is arduous and the smell of sulfur in the crater is unpleasant, the journey is definitely worth it. 30.07.2023 Kawa ijen volcano 🌋 My favorite place on this trip, partly because the weather was great, around 10°C, and the wind was so strong that it was cold. This route is 3km long, with 2km of steep slopes and 1km of flat roads. I left my accommodation at 2am and started walking at 4am, so I didn't see the path as steep and slippery. But luckily, it rained the night before, so the ground didn't slide much. And we hiked often, so we made good time. Even though we didn't make it in time for the sunrise, we still got some beautiful pictures in the morning. It's as beautiful as if we had the chance to visit another planet or something. 🥰 For those who are mentally ready but physically not, there are taxis here. It's like an American worker using his free time to push people up the mountain instead. You can choose to sit in a normal/Rambo seat. 🤣 Personally, I didn't dare to sit in one. ijen volcano in Indonesia. nice hiking activities with my beloved friends. other than going to ijen, we also went to surabaya bromo, we drove jeep there, about 7 degrees celsius in the morning, alot of tourists gather there to just take a sun rise photo and enjoy the beautiful scenes. #2023travelwish the Kokoon hotel which is the newest hotel in Banyuwangi. the location is about 25 minutes from the port of Ketapang, and generally many people transit at this hotel before continuing their journey to Bali. we stayed here specifically to enjoy the services and facilities of the hotel. Entering this hotel is quite memorable, clean and comfortable. Incidentally this time is not too crowded so you can feel calm. Helpful and friendly staffs too. The place is very modern and great service. The only reason i gave a 3 stars because the 5th floor is bloody haunted.
