Lovely garden 🧱

红砖当代美术馆 The Red Brick Museum of Contemporary Art is a folk-based, non-profit art museum focused on the collection, research and exhibition of contemporary world and Chinese art. I have been here a few times the recent years and I think it is super cool and definitely worth the trip. It is a bit out of the way from the city center but you can actually reach it by subway and a little bit of walking. The entrance ticket varies from time to time, probably based on what exhibitions they have at the time and so today the ticket fee was 120 yuan each person. I have read that the architectural design of the museum was made by Professor Dong Yugan of Architecture Research Center of Peking University. He has been using red bricks as the basic in the architecture and has created a brilliant space for contemporary art both inside and outside. The garden outside is absolutely amazing and I have found myself finding new areas each time I am here. There is a cafe that normally served coffee, food as well as dessert while overlooking a small pound with amazing gardens around. If you are in Beijing and haven’t been here yet I really urge you to make the trip out. How to get there: Subway line 15 by the Maquanying station exit B.
