Baiyun Guan

Coming out of the Capital Museum and walking less than a kilometer along Baiyun Road, you will arrive at Baiyun Guan. Ticket price: 10 yuan. Relative to the scale of the architecture, there are not many tourists. However, you often see people dragging suitcases, and it's unclear whether they are staying there. Baiyun Guan, the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units, ancient architecture category, a famous Taoist temple in Beijing, the ancestral home of the Quanzhen School of Taoism. Baiyun Guan was built during the Tang Dynasty, and during the Yuan Dynasty, the Taoist leader Qiu Chuji, the real man of Changchun, practiced Taoism here and presided over Taoism in the world. The existing buildings were mostly built during the Qing Dynasty. The entire architecture of Baiyun Guan is divided into east, middle, and west routes, with a garden at the back. The main buildings are concentrated in the middle route, including the Zhaobi, Paifang, Shanmen, water pool, Lingguan Hall, Yuhuang Hall, Laolvtang, Qiu Ancestral Hall, Sanqing Pavilion and Siyu Palace, etc. The east route includes Nanji Palace, Doumu Pavilion, Zhenwu Hall, Huoshen Hall, Zhai Hall, and Luogong Tower, etc. The west route includes the Ancestral Hall, Yuanjun Hall, Wenchang Hall, Yuanchen Hall, and Lvzu Hall, etc. The back garden is called Yunji Garden. In addition to sightseeing and incense, touching the stone monkey and hitting the money eye are unique folk activities here. It is said that touching the little stone monkey can bring good luck. Before entering the mountain gate, you can touch two, one at the mountain gate and the other at the lower part of the left stone carving, which can be seen to have been touched out of the patina 😂. There is another one in the depths of the Taoist temple, but it cannot be touched because the temple is under repair. The back garden is very quiet, with many cats, leisurely and comfortable. If you are not in a hurry, you can stroll around here for two or three hours, which is very comfortable.
