"North-West Taste" Lanzhou Lamian=Lanzhou Beef Noodles Location: Xi'an city, Beilin district, Da Xue Nan Lu 22 Nothing describes northwest cuisine better than famous Lanzhou Beef Noodles. Soup or boiled or fried noodles with different vegetables and beef makes the possible combination for cooking dish as a huge number of variations. You definitely find your favorite taste. There are hundreds restaurants in Xi'an serving Lanzhou Beef Noodles. All of them are specialized in this cooking style. But I may choose one of them and call the best! The noodles cooked by this family are incredible! The species are also selected by themselves and combined in a secret way to make the taste to blow up the mind. "The Culinary Wonders of Silk Road" Xinjiang Food A Da Xi Restaurant Address: Shaanxi Province, Xi'an City, Beilin District, Huan Cheng Nan Lu Xi Duan Xi'anis the best place to explore the Northwest cuisine in China and, of course, the most "precious" germ in a culinary top of this city is Xinjiang Yugur dishes and cuisine. Xi'an located closely to the Xinjiang and from ancient times was connected by numerous of roads with Xinjiang, that resulted in migration and settlement of Yugur people in Xi'an. A Da Xi is one of the authentic restaurants which belongs to the Xinjiang family. The food is a wonder! The taste of each dish is rich and plentiful like painting saturated by bright but harmonic colours. Several dishes deserve special attention and included Zhua Fan (rice with mutton on a bone), kao baozi (tandur baked dumplings), Xinjiang BBQ, Da Pan Ji (baked chicken on noodles), and fresh naan or nang bread (on a pictures). "The Forgotten Realm Taste"... A Wa Shan Zhai Restaurant Location: Xi'an city, Beilin District, Bian Jia Cun and Xi He Hua Yuan Cross-road. We continue to explore authentic taste of Xi'an. This restaurant looks luxury but at the same time positioned as mid level price restaurant. The dishes are typical for Southern Shaanxi which is geographically very close to Xi'an. The restaurant offers varieties of dishes, many if them are served on Tie Ban aka Teban or iron plate which is very hot and keeps dish always warm. Actually, I discovered this place accidentally during my roaming the surroundings of Bell Tower. I just planned to across the road by underground path and suddenly spotted the board of restaurant. "Legendary Dumplings" 马三包 Ma San Bao (Tang Baoizi Guan 汤包馆 or Soup Dumplings Restaurant) Location: Shaanxi Province, Xi'an City, Lian Hu Qu, Xi Hua Men Da Jie Of course, everyone heard about baozi or dumplings and even tried it, but there are so many kinds of baozi in China. Xi'an is a place where baozi are most popular. Today we have visited Ma San Bao located in muslin quarter. The restaurant offers different kinds of baozi including my favorite one Tang Bao or soup dumplings. Each dumpling contain meat and tasty soup inside and during steaming it looks like meat is boiled in its own soup inside of baozi. One bite and mouth is filled by liquid with rich flavour. "Indian Flavour Scent On A Long Way Silk Road" Amber Bites 琥珀宫 Restaurant Location: Shaanxi Province, Xi'an City, Yan Ta District, Chang An Zhong Lu 86 Xi'an in my mind is a gastronomic capital of the East. And this is not mere assertion but the fact came from history of the city as a start point of the famous Silk Road and first cosmopolitan multicultural city in the world. The merchants and warriors from different lands brough their culinary habits here. Today we can find a perfect example and a story taking a step inside of this Indian Restaurant. The food is cooked by professionals and restaurant belongs to the Indian guys. The variety of tastes all across the India is represented there. From delicious samosas to the different curries and soups.
