Budapest in the palm of your hand.

Yesterday, I shared my overall impressions of Budapest, but this place definitely deserves its own post. 🇭🇺 I'm talking about St. Stephen's Basilica, Hungary's main church, built between 1851 and 1905. But we're not here for a history lesson. From the top, you get an unbelievable view of the entire capital. 📚 There's an entrance fee for the basilica and the observation deck. It cost me around 1,700 rubles for both, and it was worth every penny. 🖌 A massive dome (which actually collapsed during construction), gold, marble, and frescoes. Even if you're not religious, the interior is absolutely stunning. 👑 The basilica's most important relic is the Holy Right Hand. It's the right hand of Stephen I, the first king and founder of Hungary. Its history is straight out of a movie. ⭐ Over the past thousand years, the relic has traveled across different countries, survived wars, the fall of empires, and even spent time locked in a bank vault. 🛡 But the observation deck is what really steals the show here. From up there, you can see the Danube, the Buda Hills, and an endless sea of rooftops.
