Intercontinental Khao Yai Resort The newly opened resort under the IHG brand has chosen a popular location for nature-loving tourists, "Khao Yai", perfect for relaxation, fresh air, and Bill Bensley's outstanding design, a renowned architect who has designed many luxury hotels and resorts around the world. This design uses the theme of the 5th era train mixed with modern Western style, creating a beautiful and interesting detail in many areas, especially the interior design of the rooms that provide an atmosphere like sleeping on a train. The Suite and Villa rooms are located on the newly built train cars, providing privacy and a new experience as if traveling by a long-distance train amidst the peaceful and beautiful nature. When arriving at the resort, you will encounter the "Khao Yai Station," a building designed like an old train station, which is the resort's lobby. Inside, it is divided into two parts, the check-in counter area and the station master's room, which has a bunk bed and a sitting area for us to take pictures while waiting. There are a total of 45 rooms in this resort, including Classic and Suite rooms, spread over three buildings, and the train car section, which will be located deep inside the resort, is a Suite and Pool Villa room type. Although they are the same room type, the interior design of each room will differ in color and style. We stayed here for 2 nights in a 1 King Classic Lake View room, which is located on the building. The highlight of this room is the full view of the lake that can be seen from the balcony. The interior is decorated like sleeping on a train, and the hotel amenities use the Byredo brand, which is the same as other Intercontinental hotels in Thailand. The room is well-proportioned, with a compact bathroom design like on a train and a walk-in closet with space to hang clothes and place luggage. Inside the resort, there are a total of 4 restaurants, starting with the Tea Carriage, a beautiful and classic tea room on a train, serving an Afternoon Tea set and a variety of drinks. Somying's Kitchen is a buffet breakfast restaurant and all-day dining restaurant that offers both Thai and international cuisine. Poirot is a French restaurant on a train in the atmosphere of the first-class train of the Oriental Express, serving formal French dining. Papillon Bar is a stylish bar serving signature drinks of the resort in a chill atmosphere on a classic train car. All of these restaurants are open to outside guests, but it is recommended to book a table in advance. If you are looking for a place to relax for an upcoming holiday, Intercontinental Khao Yai is another great option that can meet your needs well. Personally, this resort impressed us in many ways, especially the atmosphere and the design that are beautiful from every angle.
