The Nanhu State Guesthouse in Changchun comes highly recommended as the top hotel for this trip to the Northeast

Super awesome! Highly recommended! The guesthouse covers an area of 860,000 square meters, with a building area of 180,000 square meters, making it the largest urban forest guesthouse in Asia that integrates gardens, pastoral areas, and characteristic villas. The main building is a Ming Dynasty palace-style architecture, with slightly upturned eaves and columns reaching to the top, grand and magnificent. There are seven small buildings each with its own characteristics, with Chinese, French, German, and other styles, fan-shaped distributed in the jungle on the southeast side of the guesthouse, blending with the beautiful natural scenery of Nanhu Park. Rooms: When we stayed during the New Year, only the main building was open, with an area of 28 square meters. Although not large, the high ceiling made the overall space feel spacious. The hotel's amenities are in small bottles, clean and hygienic, and there is also a power card, so taking the room card out does not affect the use of electricity inside. It is said that the decoration of Building 7 is somewhat newer, and there is a coffee shop under Building 7, which might be generally newer than the main building. The king-size bed rooms are generally more expensive than the twin rooms, probably because the windows of the king-size bed rooms face outside, while those of the twin rooms face inside, limiting the view. Dining: During this stay, we experienced an a la carte dinner and a buffet breakfast. Overall, it was acceptable, with dinner being relatively tastier. The hazel mushroom with Chinese cabbage is worth ordering, perfectly cooked with generous portions. Breakfast was more ordinary, with pastries like egg tarts being a bit cold, indicating desserts are not their strong suit. The noodles cooked on-site were quite tasty, but in the North, there seems to be no toppings, so the noodles really only come with noodles. Therefore, if adding breakfast costs a lot more, you might choose not to include it. Service: The staff are super enthusiastic! There's self-service ginseng and jujube tea in the lobby, always served hot and delicious. There are also small cars to take us to the main entrance. Upon check-in, you'll receive snacks from Jilin Province as a gift (some are super tasty, I even bought more on Taobao later), as well as practical gift packs like masks and hand warmers. In the evening, there's dessert (unfortunately, we returned too late that day, and the black fungus soup they sent was completely cold), fruits are delivered daily, and a small bag of snacks is given upon checkout, super generous! Recreation: The hotel has over 20 sika deer roaming freely, and there are 2 young sika deer in a small cabin, super cute! You can interact with the young sika deer, but you'll have to discover the roaming ones yourself. Their footprints can be found in the snow, but they are quite elusive; we didn't find them this time. Several spots in the hotel were filming locations for 'Ren Shijian', and there's a great birch forest, casually offering stunning photo opportunities! Some buildings were stayed in by leaders; if you look carefully, you can check in just like the leaders! Transportation: The hotel is well located, right next to Nanhu Park, within walking distance, not far from Hongqi Street, with a bus stop at the door, and a subway station a bit further away, making transportation quite convenient!
