Puppet Emperor's Palace, the last palace site of China's last emperor Puyi, was also the office for managing salt affairs in Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces during the Republic of China period. The architecture blends Chinese and Western styles, being both modern and classical, a product of the unique social conditions of the time. 🪭Tour and Photography Tips The least roundabout route: East Imperial Garden - Tongde Hall - Jiale Hall - Huaiyuan Building - Qinmin Building - Jixi Building - West Imperial Garden - Imperial Household Department In this sequence, you actually walk in reverse, entering from the back of each building. If you don't mind a bit of a detour: East Imperial Garden - Tongde Hall - Jixi Building - Qinmin Building - Huaiyuan Building - Jiale Hall (exit from Tongde Hall) - West Imperial Garden - Imperial Household Department 🎈Tongde Hall With a hip-and-gable roof, also known as Xingya-style architecture, it is the largest palace in the palace complex and the venue for important events. The second floor includes the bedroom, living room, and activity room of Puyi and Li Yuqin (though Puyi did not live here, Li Yuqin's room originally belonged to Wanrong, and after her downfall, it was given to Concubine Fu). The grand chandelier in the main hall on the second floor is very photogenic. 🎈Jixi Building The sleeping quarters of Puyi, Wanrong, and Tan Yuling, some rooms have slightly eerie objects. The corridor around the outer wing rooms is less crowded and good for photos. 🎈Qinmin Building An office building, my personal favorite, with a domed structure, square ring building, and a tall apricot tree planted in the square courtyard in the middle. 🎈Huaiyuan Building A place for ancestral worship, banquet hall, and the office of the protocol department. 🪭Puppet Emperor's Palace Museum Address: No. 5 Guangfu North Road, Kuancheng District, Changchun City Opening hours: 8:30-18:00, last entry at 16:40 Ticket: 70 yuan/adult The indoor areas are not very cool, only a few enclosed exhibition halls have air conditioning. Nearby are the former site of the Russian Consulate and a Catholic church.
