It was built in the Han Dynasty and has a history of more than two thousand years. Initially, it was a Taoist temple dedicated to Bixia Yuanjun, also known as Zhongmiao Niangniang here. After the Wei and Jin Dynasties, Buddhism flourished while Taoism declined, and it gradually evolved into a Buddhist temple.
