The Premier Taoist Temple in Western Sichuan

Qingyang Palace: The premier Taoist temple in Western Sichuan and the foremost forest of temples in the Southwest, it is one of the famous Taoist temples in the country. Qingyang Palace was founded during the Zhou Dynasty, originally named Qingyang Si. The halls built during the Ming and Tang dynasties were destroyed in military disasters. Most of the existing buildings were reconstructed during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. The Eight Trigrams Pavilion in Qingyang Palace is well-preserved and exquisitely designed, enshrining a statue of Laozi riding a green ox. The most precious cultural relic in the palace, the Daozang Jiyao, is the most complete version preserved in the world.
