Phra That Doi Tung: The First Stupa in the Lanna Kingdom

🛕Phra That Doi Tung houses the left collarbone relic of the Buddha, which was brought from India by King Achutarat. Later, Kruba Srivichai renovated the stupa, and the current stupa was built over the old one. 🛕It is said that in the past, a long centipede flag (Tung) was planted on the mountain peak. Wherever the flag's end landed, a stupa would be established. This is the origin of the name Phra That Doi Tung. 🛕Phra That Doi Tung is the most famous stupa in Chiang Rai province. It is ancient, beautiful, and located on a mountain peak about 2,000 meters above sea level, offering a panoramic view of nature.
