I recommend the Indigo Hotel by the Erhai Lake in Dali, both the scenery and service are great!

Erhai Lake is a reason many people visit Dali, and staying by the lake was one of the experiences I wanted on this trip to Dali. There are not many high-end chain hotels by the Erhai Lake in Dali. Before coming, I was hesitating between the Indigo, the Hilton, and the Pullman, after reading many reviews and looking at pictures, I still preferred the view from the Indigo's lake view room, so I booked a 140-degree lake view deluxe twin room for two nights. The hotel is located in Xiaguan Town, near Erhai Park, on the south side of Erhai Lake. It's quite close to Dali Station, I took a taxi right after getting off the high-speed train, and it took just over ten minutes to get there. It's a bit of a distance from Dali Ancient Town, and it takes about half an hour by taxi. Upon arrival, the hotel's concierge was at the door to greet and guide guests to the second-floor lobby for check-in. Most hotels incorporate local cultural elements into their design, and this Indigo integrates elements of the Bai ethnicity, with tie-dye style installations and paintings everywhere. As soon as you get out of the elevator to the second-floor lobby, you can see the vast Erhai Lake view through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The hotel's lobby bar is also on the second floor, part of it facing the sea and part behind the front desk area. The ceiling is decorated with motifs of Shangguan flowers, and sitting here for a coffee, chatting, or business is a nice atmosphere. During my stay, I even bumped into a blogger I follow filming a video~ The room decoration is quite simple, the bathroom is separated into wet and dry areas, and there is a bathtub next to the washbasin🛁. The hairdryer is a classic model from Dyson, and the mini-bar is replenished daily. As soon as you enter the room, you can see Erhai Lake through the window next to the washbasin and the large scenic window! The window by the washbasin is retractable, and when you need a mirror for washing, you can close it for use. There is a long sofa in front of the window where you can enjoy the view of Erhai Lake outside; the two beds face the scenic window directly, so you can see the beautiful view from bed in the morning, starting the day with the scenery of Erhai Lake. The bedding is also very nice, comfortable to sleep in, with a moderate firmness. One point of dissatisfaction is that the room is too stuffy, and since the room faces the street, there are quite a few speed bumps on the road below, so if you open the window, it's actually quite noisy with the traffic.
