Wenchang Pavilion is one of the oldest existing buildings in Guiyang. It was first built during the Ming Dynasty, over 500 years ago. It was one of the 'Nine Gates and Four Pavilions' of Guiyang during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and it is the only pavilion that has survived to this day. Wenchang Pavilion is built above the Wushengmen Barbican in the east of Guiyang city. It is a comprehensive building that integrates military defense and moral education. The pavilion majestically stands atop the city wall, with a grand and imposing presence, featuring upturned eaves and exquisite beauty. It is worth mentioning that the architectural form of Guiyang's Wenchang Pavilion is a three-story asymmetrical nine-cornered pointed roof. This architectural form is unique among the existing ancient buildings in China, making it a unique treasure in the world.
