Located at the confluence of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, Xiaohe, and Yuhangtang River, Hangzhou's Xiaohe Straight Street boasts the living environment of the lower-class people along the canal from the late Qing Dynasty and the early years of the Republic of China. Its architectural features, street landscape, and canal shipping relics are characteristic of Hangzhou, preserving a unique style. Xiaohe Straight Street is the last canal residence in Hangzhou.
