Annecy is the most beautiful town in the French Alps, known as the balcony of the Alps. The waters of Lake Annecy come from the snow and ice of the Alps and are considered to be the cleanest lakes in Europe. Even in the winter, the mountains of Annecy are green, the water is green, the landscape is natural, and life is laid back. The river from the western mountains passes through the entire old town and is injected into the Annecy Lake in front of the town hall. The main streets of the Old Town are on either side of the River, many of which were built between the 12th and 17th centuries and are well preserved. The ancient stone roads are still medieval, and most of them are opened as pedestrian streets.
