Dec 31: It's snowing at Dagu Glacier! Not a deterrent at all!

It's snowing at Dagu Glacier! So lucky! I saw some posts from a few days ago and was worried that the snow wouldn't be pretty, but it snowed a lot last night. Even though you can't see the glacier, it's still beautiful and photogenic! But I have to say, the wind at the top of the mountain is really strong. Here are some tips... I hope they help those of you planning to visit during winter break or the Spring Festival 📖 1⃣️ Weather, clothing, and equipment 🔸 Temperature reference: -12–9°C. It won't feel too cold during the day if it's sunny and not windy. 🔸 Clothing suggestions: Outerwear: 3-in-1 jacket or down jacket. If you don't have one, you can rent a winter coat at the scenic area! Innerwear: Thermal underwear + sweatshirt/sweater Pants: Fleece-lined jeans/sweatpants. You can also wear thick long skirts with long johns underneath. Shoes: Non-slip, warm shoes + thick socks 💢 I recommend layering, which makes it easy to put on and take off clothes. It's also easy to take photos in nice clothes. 🔸 Other equipment: Hat (a must!!! The wind is so strong that it feels like it can blow through your skin and flesh and directly into your brain) + scarf + earmuffs + gloves + sunglasses + hand warmers 🔸 Oxygen tank: Buy in advance. It's too expensive near the scenic area!!! One tank per person is enough. 🔸 Bring some small bread, Snickers, etc. to replenish your energy. The food on the mountain is expensive and unpalatable. 🔸 Motion sickness patch + trash bag: There are many curves on the mountain roads in Western Sichuan. You can prepare them just in case. 🔸 Thermos: Drinking hot water when it's cold or when you have motion sickness is a lifesaver. 🔸 Power bank: Low temperatures drain electronic devices quickly, so you can take photos without worry. 🔸 Wet wipes: After eating fruit or snacks on the bus, you'll need them for your sticky hands. 2⃣️ Notes ❌ Don't buy shoe covers. Wear slightly non-slip shoes or crampons. ❌ The wind on the mountain is strong. Wear more clothes, gloves, and a scarf 🧣 and hat. ❌ Remember to bring sunglasses. The snow reflects a lot of light, and you won't be able to open your eyes without them. ❌ The UV rays on the snow are super strong, so sunscreen is a must! ❌ Bring a thermos.
