Hong Kong Park, a free landmark for pure play

Hong Kong Park is located on Cotton Tree Drive in Central, Hong Kong, China, near Admiralty MTR Station. Covering an area of 8 hectares, it cost HKD 398 million and is an outstanding example of the combination of modern design and facilities with the natural environment. The park has an aviary that simulates a tropical rainforest environment, with more than 150 species of birds, as well as several modern gardens and facilities, such as a step garden, garden square, sculptures, ceramics, and printmaking center. Hong Kong Park is a rare large-scale recreational place in the commercial center of Hong Kong Island, providing a place to temporarily escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The park retains several military heritage buildings built between 1842 and 1910, including the Flagstaff House (now the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware), Rawlinson House (now the Hong Kong Park Office and Cotton Tree Drive Marriage Registry), Wavell House (now the Education Center), and Cassels Block (now the Hong Kong Visual Arts Center). In the center of the park, visitors can see the artificial lake and waterfall converted from the old military camp tennis court. Along the lakeside path, you can climb up to the Olympic Square, Hong Kong Park Office, and Cotton Tree Drive Marriage Registry. In the middle of the park, there are two large modern facilities built on the mountain, the conservatory and the aviary, which are adjacent to the Tai Chi Garden and the Vantage Point, forming a characteristic architectural complex of Hong Kong Park.
