Venice in Hong Kong

Tai O is located on the western tip of Lantau island. It's a charming fishing village that has kept much of its original appeal. As such there are many waterways that run through the village, making a good snapshot of bygone Hong Kong. You can easily spend an afternoon roaming around its streets and exploring hidden corners. As it is a fishing village, you'll find a plentitude of seafood dishes and products, which also make for great souvenirs. A bit further away from the main village, you'll find a lovely promenade by the sea that leads to a pier. You'll have sweeping views of the South China Sea and on clear days even Macau.
