⛱️Must-visit attractions: Jixi Museum, the largest county-level museum in Anhui Province, designed by Li Xinggang, the chief designer of the China Architecture Design Institute (the host designer of the 'Bird's Nest'). With gray tiles, white walls, and blue stones, it combines traditional Huizhou architectural culture with modernity. It is recommended to hire a guide, the tour takes about an hour and a half, and the courtyard is particularly suitable for photography. Huimo Experience, you can go to the Huimo Cultural Park or the old Hu Kaiwen Ink Factory in Shangzhuang to experience how an ink stick is made, starting from collecting soot, pounding ink, and kneading ink fruits. Children can pound ink embryos themselves, paint gold, and even make a hand-pressed ink stick to take home. It is a very novel study tour experience. Longchuan Scenic Area, the only 5A scenic spot in Xuancheng, is home to the Hu Family Ancestral Hall, which gathers the essence of the three Huizhou carvings, and the Yishi Shushufang. The water street is not long, and you can play in the water and look for crabs. Zhangshan Grand Canyon, the most surprising attraction for us, has one of the largest boulders in the world—Baizhang Rock. The clear stream water is icy cold, and the clear spring flows, forming many pools of different sizes. The most distinctive one is the Gourd Pool. This gourd-shaped pool is crystal clear, and children have a lot of fun playing in the water. 🍲Dish recommendations: There is a Chinese Huizhou Cuisine Museum next to the Jixi Museum, where you can not only see but also eat. Recommended dishes include Hu's Yipin Pot, Jixi Stinky Mandarin Fish, and Bamboo Shoots with Braised Pork. 🚉Transportation guide: It takes about two hours to drive from Xuancheng. You can take the high-speed rail to Jixi North Station.
