3D2N Johor Bahru Trip

The perks of being a Singaporean means entering Johor is very easy... That’s what I thought… Well entering into Johor is pretty quick on low traffic days, school holidays and weekends are the worst time to enter and leave. I made the wrong choice of going into Johor on 2 September, teachers day and also the start of school holidays, and I ended up having to queue at the Malaysian immigration and Customs for 5 hours… NO food, NO water, STANDING… it was a pain. but I didn’t have to go through the heart ache of wasting petrol at the side of the road 😂 For those taking train, it’s easy to find the mall. For those walking/ bussing in, head to JB Sentral first then there will be signs that guide you towards the mall (city mall). money exchangers, and telco companies are also situated within the arrival area. fortunately for our hungry souls, we had a friend in JB who was having a barbecue party and kindly invited us! Food, glorious food! we checked in into the tritower residences ($200 per person x 5 of us). My thoughts. - expensive :( - dusty - but spacious with a great view second day we had prata at a store opposite of the mall. - language barrier - the prices on the board do not match the price the staff calculated… it was too hard to argue, therefore we just paid and left. In the curry wasn’t even that good… One thing I like about Malaysia is how “old“ the buildings look. I am a person who likes old-looking stuff. after walking around, we went to another mall called Mid Southvalley. honestly it feels like I’m in Takashimaya/ ion 😂 - Played VR - Shopped for graphic tees (to which there’s a lot of shops selling it for cheaper than SG!) - Bought Croissants from Hazukido (Lemon glaze one tasted the best!!) after a day out, we decided to go back to our accommodation to rest. And we had it out at night for a Japanese cuisine which our friend recommended. - 10/10!! - came with complimentary Karaoke 😂 on the Saturday, I didn’t document much because I was hit with food poisoning. My friends didn’t though… and I strongly believe that it’s because I haven’t been to Malaysia in very long and I’m not used to the food. It’s not that the food is poisonous 😂😂 anyway, thanks for hearing me out! Now it’s you guys turn to go explore! #mustvisit #mustdo #foodie #passionpassport #vacation
