The past and present of Longting Park The main buildings of Longting Park consist of the Meridian Gate, the Jade Belt Bridge, the Longting Hall, and the Wanshou Palace. It was first built in the 31st year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1692 AD). In order to facilitate the local administrative officials to pay tribute to the emperor, a "Wanshou Pavilion" was built on the coal mountain of the original Zhou Royal Palace. The pavilion enshrines the plaque of "Emperor Wansui", so it is also called "Longting". In the 12th year of Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty (1734), it was renamed Wanshouguan. During the Republic of China, it was renamed several times, and was named Longting Park, Zhongshan Park, and Xinmin Park. Until the liberation of Kaifeng, Chairman Mao came here in 1952 to change back to "Longting". Longting Hall The Longting Hall is built on one layer and built on another. Unfortunately, the river disasters of Kaifeng City in the past dynasties have buried the former Six Dynasties Palace under our feet. What we see now is the Longting Hall built on the site of the original Six Dynasties Palace. The hall is located on the top of the blue brick base, up to 27 meters high, using a double-eave Xieshan-style architectural structure, (Figure 6 eaves) in ancient times was a manifestation of noble status, golden and magnificent, majestic. Today's Longting Park is one of the iconic buildings of Kaifeng, still located on the central axis of Kaifeng City, with it as the center has formed the largest scenic area in Kaifeng, so it is said that Kaifeng must visit Longting. Standing on the top of Longting and overlooking, what you feel is the blend of the past and the present, surrounded by water on three sides, that is probably the lakeside of the Pan and Yang families, and the beauty of Longting is all in sight. And the wind chimes hanging on the eaves, with the breeze blowing the wind, what you hear are the stories of the past and the present. Standing at a high place, you can see that the entire park is still very large, so I decided to take a scenic battery car for a tour.
