Madness in Isaan

#songkran2024 After experiencing a couple of absolutely insane Songkrans/Buddhist New Years in the past, and having a hardcore "I'm getting too old for this" moment, we decided to hide out in Isaan for 10 days or so after hearing the locals there celebrate in a far more mellow, traditional way than their compatriots in places like Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya etc. Turned out to be false news, and it was just as crazy there as anywhere else. All day water fights and all night 150 decibel concerts/boozing. Our hotel room was on the 20th floor, and still in the midst of the action, even in the nosebleed seats.
