Kobe Arima Onsen: A Traditional Hot Spring Town

Kobe Arima Onsen is a traditional hot spring town and one of Kobe's popular tourist attractions. It is also one of Japan's three ancient hot springs. Among the hot spring establishments, Gin no Yu and Kin no Yu are the most famous, offering public baths for day visitors. If you just want a simple bathing experience, there is a free foot bath next to the Kin no Yu shop. Visitors are advised to bring their own towels, otherwise, the shop will charge an extra fee for towels. Visitors can also choose to visit other hot spring inns for a day trip. I chose Kin no Yu for a simple hot spring experience. The shop's environment is comfortable, and the charges are very reasonable. In addition, Arima Onsen Town offers beautiful scenery and the Yuzen Shrine for visitors to explore. The nearby shopping street, known as Yumotozaka, is a narrow stone-paved road extending from the main street of Arima Onsen. It is a great place for a stroll, allowing visitors to walk among houses from Japan's Edo period. There are many unique restaurants and shops, making it a great place to buy souvenirs, including skincare products made with Arima Onsen water.
