The Most Beautiful Waterfall Town in Switzerland - Lauterbrunnen

Lauterbrunnen is very beautiful. Although Switzerland gives an impression of a similar kind of beauty, nothing more than snow-capped mountains, dreamy slopes, chalet towns, and lakes, each region has its own unique characteristics when you delve deeper. Lauterbrunnen stands out as exceptionally 'resounding'; its name translates directly from German to 'loud springs' (Laut-Brunnen). There are seven waterfalls of varying sizes cascading down the cliffs on both sides of the valley, hence Lauterbrunnen is known as the 'Waterfall Town'. If one is not too close to the waterfalls and rivers, the sound of the water becomes a pleasant white noise; however, walking by the river, no matter how beautiful the scenery, it still feels too noisy. Fortunately, the location of the houses here is somewhat wisely chosen, about the width of a small path and a lawn away from the river, significantly reducing the sound of the water. Walking on any path in Lauterbrunnen feels like strolling through a painting. At the foot of Staubbach Falls, there is a beautiful cemetery, with each grave meticulously maintained, and personalized tombstones adorned with different plants, creating mini gardens. Each tombstone is unique; some belong to former musicians, as indicated by the musical notes and staves on the tombstones; some have local cows carved on them, suggesting the person buried was likely a cattle farmer; some look grand, probably belonging to a leader or a notable contributor. I have never seen such a lovely cemetery, and it is imaginable that their descendants not only focus on their current lives but also hold respect and remembrance for the deceased.
