Exploring Miao Culture in Guizhou

While touring through Guizhou, we visited a lot of different Miao Villages, but there is one that really seems to stand out in my mind: Langde. During our stay, it wasn't packed with tourists, and there are actually two parts of the village that you can explore - the upper and the lower part. We received a really warm welcome from the local villagers - a procession of musicians and small cups filled with rice wine as you enter the grounds of the village; followed by a performance of local song and dance. Following this warm welcome, we were left to our own devices to wander - without a doubt it is a quiet village, where local culture and traditions are kept alive by those still living there.
