Qite Daping Bridge

Taiping Bridge is located in Chetian Village, Yangcun Town, Longnan County. It was first built during the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty by Wang Shouren (Yangming), the governor of southern Jiangxi, to commemorate the pacification of the "Three Lian" and to symbolize peace in the world. It was later destroyed. The current bridge was rebuilt by the Lai clan in the first year of the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty (1796). The Taiping Bridge has an excellent and unique design, with the bridge and the house perfectly combined. The bridge is 44.8 meters long, 4 meters wide, and about 15.2 meters high. The lower level has three piers and two holes, with a brick and stone structure. The middle pier on the upstream side protrudes like a bow, reducing the impact of the water flow on the pier. The upper level has a Hakka-style brick and wood structure with a four-way corridor house in the center, flanked by "Five Mountains Facing Heaven" horsehead walls with corridor arches. The upper corridor arches rest on the two bridge arches below, forming a "pin" shape. The bridge has been listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit by the State Council.
