Love at first sight! This ancient Hakka bridge in the deep mountains is about to take off
Ganzhou's Qing dynasty bridge, shaped like the character '品', is as stunning as a turtle's back and a bird with its wings spread.
It combines both artistry and practicality.
The bridge has a pavilion in the middle with three pairs of symmetrical flying eaves on each side, all built with green bricks and green tiles.
The archway's lintel is inscribed with the words '◎Taiping Bridge' handwritten by Lai Maojie, signifying peace and prosperity for all under heaven.
At the same time, it is constructed from finely polished granite combined with lime, brown sugar, and glutinous rice paste as mortar.
It shares the ingenuity of the Hakka enclosed houses.

Longnan in Jiangxi, a hidden treasure city
Longnan in Jiangxi, is truly an underrated place! It is located in Ganzhou, Jiangxi, the center of Chinese Hakka culture, and is also known as the 'Castle of the Orient' and 'Palaces scattered among the people' 😲. It has the world's tallest and largest roundhouses, a low-key small city of Jiangxi's cultural ancient architecture 🎊. Below is a recommended 2-day 1-night travel itinerary for Longnan 👇
🛑2 Days 1 Night Itinerary
Day1: Guanxi Xinwei—Longguang Wei
Day2: Taiping Bridge—Yanyi Wei—Wushi Wei
🏨Accommodation: Dale Zhiye (Longnan Store)
1️⃣Guanxi Xinwei🎪, the world's largest square roundhouse
This is the world's largest square roundhouse 😲! It took a full 29 years to build, with 282 rooms inside 📖. Just the bricks and tiles used for the construction of the roundhouse took 19 years to fire 🕰️. The layout of the houses is longitudinal, and in the rooms, you can see the ancient study rooms, boudoirs, and beds 🛏️. They live together with the same surname, jointly defending against foreign enemies 🧱. This mansion does not give off a feeling of seclusion, decay, or mystery; instead, it displays the life style of a generation of Chinese magnates at ease 🤵.
2️⃣Yanyi Wei🏯, the world's tallest roundhouse
There are still 3 local households living here 👨👩👧👦. It is said that there used to be more than 200 households here 🤔.
This is an open-style courtyard made of wood, with festive red lanterns hanging in front of the door 🏮. It has been built for over 340 years and is the world's tallest roundhouse 🗼!
This earthen building has even withstood Japanese artillery shells, showing its sturdiness 💪!
3️⃣Longguang Wei🏰, the roundhouse with the strongest outer walls
Longguang Wei is a place that even locals might not be able to find 🤭, and it was still under construction when we visited 🚧.
This is a very special roundhouse in Longnan, with outer walls made of huge stones, and the interior is white walls with black wood, a two-story small house hidden in the remote mountains 🌳.
4️⃣Wushi Wei🏠
Wushi Wei has only one floor, with houses on both sides and the clan's ancestral hall in the middle 🙏. The gaps in the ancestral hall are very tight, and there are still local residents raising chickens and ducks here 🐔, and there is a rare living water ancient well in the roundhouse 💧. There are water plants in the well, and a plastic bucket is hanging by the clear water well 🛢️, filled with the breath of life 🎈.
5️⃣Taiping Bridge🌉
There is a horse-head wall bridge made of blue bricks over the water, which is a national treasure-level bridge 🤩! Villagers in the mountains often ride electric scooters across the bridge 🛵, and on a clear day, you can see the two-hole three-pier, four-arch double-layer overlapping structure from the reflection on the water surface 🎆.
6️⃣Dale Zhiye🏕️
The guesthouse is located in the largest gathering place of Hakka people, opposite an original resident's roundhouse 🏯.
I particularly like the courtyard of Dale Zhiye, where the banana leaves grow very lush 🌴, the grass ash texture wall surface and the old beams have settled the traces of the years 🕰️, neutralizing some of the bright atmosphere in the modern elements 🎉.
🌟Food Recommendations🌟
1. Fengyan Pearl: Shaped like a pearl, tender and smooth to the taste 😋.
2. Longnan Chui Fish: The fish is tender and the soup is delicious 🥘.
3. Longnan Stuffed Tofu: The tofu is tender, and the filling is rich 😚.
4. Yangcun Black Rice Noodles: Smooth and strong, very delicious with the soup 🍜.
5. Longnan Hot Skin: A variety of flavors to choose from, fragrant and soft to the taste 🥰.(✿◠‿◠)

Escape the crowds this Labor Day and discover a hidden gem for travel! Jiangxi Longnan awaits your exploration!
🌟Folks, still undecided about where to go for the Labor Day mini-holiday? Don't worry, let me recommend an extremely niche travel destination—Jiangxi Longnan! It's not fully developed yet, but it's definitely worth discovering! 😉
🚄Departing from Guangdong, it's just over an hour by high-speed train, super convenient! 🚅
🏠On the first day, head straight to Guanxi Weilou from the high-speed train to experience the living traces of the Hakka people over the centuries. Walking through the village is like traveling back in time, it feels amazing! 🏞️
🌉On the second day, start with a visit to Taiping Bridge, then head to Wushi Wei and Yanyi Wei. The well-preserved Weilou here are like navigating through a maze, super fun! 🏰
🏞️On the third day, take a walk on Nan Wudang Mountain. Although it has no relation to Wudang Mountain, the Danxia landform's massive boulder mountains are definitely worth seeing! Longguang Wei also awaits your exploration! 🏞️
🚗For transportation, self-driving is recommended, and it's very convenient to rent a car on Ctrip! As for accommodation, there are many newly built hotels in Shuangzi Wei B&B cluster, with an amazing environment! 🏨
🍜In terms of food, there are popular eateries in Longnan Old Town and Jiefang Street, and Yangcun also has some small restaurants to try. 🍲
💡By the way, Guanxi Xinwei is currently the only Weilou that requires an admission ticket, but it's definitely worth more than its price! Here, it's as if you can hear the life of the past, where families with the same surname lived together and defended against enemies. 🎫
📸Also, be sure to pay attention to safety when taking photos, especially on Taiping Bridge, where one end of the bridge is a county road with many trucks passing by. 🚚
😍In short, Longnan is truly an amazing niche travel destination. For those who haven't decided where to go for Labor Day, come here for a reverse escape! 💨

Although not many people have been there, it is called 'Little Wudang' for a reason
Nan Wudang Mountain, also known as 'Little Wudang',
is located within the territory of Longnan County, Ganzhou City, 220 kilometers from Guangzhou.
It is a scenic spot that integrates the beauty of Danxia landforms and Buddhist culture,
consisting of two areas: Wudang and Guanxi,
including four scenic areas: Wudang Peak, Yubi Peak, Qitang Mountain, Guanxi Wei, and four independent attractions: Yanyi Wei, Taiping Bridge, Wushi Wei, and Cai's Ancient Banyan.
Little Wudang Mountain has 99 peaks,
which stand tall and straight like swords and spears, pointing directly to the sky.
Between the peaks, there are winding paths.
Walking slowly along the stone steps of the mountain trail,
it takes about 40 minutes to reach the top of Wudang Peak.
The peak is connected to the rear peak, and the square area covers dozens of acres,
with a picturesque temple surrounded by red eaves and flying pavilions,
and the surrounding area is full of lush pines and cypresses.
In addition to natural beauty,
Little Wudang Mountain also has large-scale, well-preserved, and functional Hakka round houses such as Guanxi Wei and Yanyi Wei,
which are typical representatives of Hakka square residential buildings,
and have high historical, scientific, and artistic value.
