Sunset Glow at Hudong Reservoir & The Highest Lake in Hefei City

Hudong Reservoir, also known as Hudong Lake, is currently a national 3A-level scenic spot and the highest artificial lake in Hefei City. Hudong Lake was built in the 1960s by the local villagers who constructed a dam between two mountains. It has a catchment area of about 800 acres and a maximum water storage capacity of 7.5 million cubic meters. From a distance, the lake water is clear and bright, sparkling like an emerald embedded among the mountains of Ketang Town. As you get closer, the blue sky, white clouds, and surrounding peaks are reflected on the lake's surface, with occasional seagulls and egrets flying and waterfowl swimming, forming a rare and beautiful green landscape painting.
