The State Library Victoria is the best library that I’ve been to. The photogenic part (which is called the dome) is very special and eye catching and the building still fulfills its purpose as a library. There are many books and study spaces, as well as historical paintings. There are also occasional exhibitions. (When I was there, the one was about photography.) There is also an exhibition showcasing the history of books. I feel like the library is also promoting the history of reading as its social responsibility. There are also workshops for example tote bag design for kids to join so do some homework on its schedule if you’re travelling with your children. If you have a chance to be there, don’t just take a photo at the dome and leave. Have a walk inside and outside the building to enjoy the display, exhibition, artwork and architecture.
