Have you ever seen a train pass through a market? Don't worry, it's not an accident. This is a daily scene at the Maeklong Railway Market in western Bangkok. The train passes through a gap less than 2 meters wide, which might seem terrifying, but it's actually very safe. The surrounding area is filled with various stalls, and the thrill of the train passing by is incredibly exciting. Highly recommended to take notes ✍️ Every time the train sounds its horn, the vendors on both sides can pack up their stalls in about 10 seconds, allowing the train to pass through the tracks. They then resume their business, all within 5 minutes. It's truly amazing! ✍️ There are 8 trains passing through the market daily, making each occurrence like a flash performance repeated every day. ✍️ You can find local snacks, fruits, and unique clothing in the market, but they are quite expensive (more expensive than night markets). Be sure to compare prices and don't buy impulsively. ✍️ The market is located in Samut Songkhram, 80 kilometers from Bangkok. The transportation is not very convenient, so I recommend hiring a car from Bangkok (recommended: 38 Traveler). It costs less than 800 THB per person for a 10-hour car hire.
