A mountain with a history of half of Nanjing💫 Niushou Mountain, also known as Tianque Mountain, has witnessed the development of Nanjing throughout history. Today, it is a heavenly palace that preserves the world's only Buddha's parietal bone relic.🍁 ·Niushou Mountain is located in Jiangning District, Nanjing, and is one of the four famous scenic spots in Nanjing. It is named after the two peaks on the east and west sides of the mountain, which resemble the horns of a bull. The mountain boasts beautiful natural scenery and was once the site of Yue Fei's resistance against the Jin Dynasty and the resting place of Zheng He. Since the flourishing of Buddhism during the Southern Liang Dynasty, Niushou Mountain has been a gathering place for monks and scholars, reaching its peak during the Tang Dynasty. It is considered a sacred site along with Qingliang in the northwest and Emei in the southwest. ·In 1937, after the Japanese occupied Nanjing, they destroyed the western peak of Niushou Mountain for iron ore mining, creating a pit over 200 meters in diameter and over 60 meters deep. This pit has now been transformed into an underground palace to enshrine the Buddha's parietal bone relic. ·Today, Niushou Mountain features grand cultural buildings such as the Foding Palace, Foding Pagoda, and Foding Temple, which are the core attractions of the mountain.
