Otaru Sankaku Market

If your trip is short, the one place you must visit in Otaru is the Sankaku Market. It operates from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. For seafood lovers, the restaurants inside the Sankaku Market offer much cheaper prices compared to those outside. The market also has many stores selling dried seafood products, with scallops being a must-buy souvenir. The Sankaku Market is located next to Otaru JR Station. After exiting the station, turn left and walk for about 3 minutes. There are a dozen or so steps at the end.
