Phuket | A Home Away from Home

|A Home Away from Home. On my recent trip to Thailand, I stayed at the Centara Karon Resort Phuket. The hotel is located on Karon Beach at 224/21 Karon Road. It takes about 45 minutes to get here from the airport by taxi. The hotel is in a great location, just a 2-minute walk from Karon Beach. There are many restaurants and bars nearby, and it's also convenient to shop at 7-11. The hotel looks very nice from the outside, with a modern style. The interior decor is a bit dated, but still clean. The front desk staff are warm and attentive. There were no communication barriers when checking in, and even if you don't speak a foreign language, you can communicate smoothly using a translation app. The staff try to meet guests' needs, and towels are changed and rooms are cleaned daily. They also thoughtfully provided fruit and breakfast when I checked in. I booked a family suite, which was very spacious, about 90 square meters. The room has two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with a bathtub), an open-plan living and dining room, and four balconies! Two of the balconies have direct sea views, which is super relaxing. The bed is very comfortable, and the room is equipped with all the usual appliances and tableware, so you can make your own breakfast. Free towels are also provided every day for swimming or going to the beach. The surrounding area is very convenient. Karon Beach is right across the street, and there are many restaurants and convenience stores nearby, so all your daily needs are met. There's a lively bar street near the hotel, and there is some noise from 9pm to midnight. If you're a light sleeper like me, you can choose a room a little further away from the bar street, or just close the windows and wear earplugs. I had a great stay overall, but there were a few minor issues. The air conditioning in the room is a bit loud, so it takes some getting used to at night. Some of the hotel facilities are a bit old, and the water temperature in the bathroom is sometimes unstable, so it takes some time to adjust. However, given the price and location, these minor issues don't really affect the overall experience. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay at the Centara Karon Resort Phuket. Both the location and service are highly recommended! If you're planning a vacation in Phuket, this is definitely a great choice.
