A Niche Tourist City in Southern Yunnan: Dripping Water Miao City, Pingbian!!

This place is clean, tidy, serene, and the air is refreshing, making it an excellent choice for a three-day, two-night weekend getaway. Starting from Kunming, you can choose between two options: first, take the intercity train, which takes about three and a half hours; second, drive yourself, which also takes three and a half hours. This time, I chose to take the intercity train. After getting off, you can take a bus, with routes covering the entire city. It is also very convenient to take the bus to the county center for dining. Accommodation: I recommend the Yunnan Daweishan Jinjiang Resort Hotel, which can be reached by taking a bus to the "County Hospital" stop. The advantages of this hotel are its spacious and clean rooms, and the environment meets the standards of a resort hotel, with a hot spring pool. However, there are some drawbacks: first, only three hot spring pools are open, and the hot spring water seemed dirty when I first arrived, so I didn't soak. Although the hotel claims to change the water daily, it still felt unsatisfactory; second, the standard room shower had no place to hang clothes, and the shower water was very small on weekends when there were many people, which was embarrassing. Overall, there is a gap between the online description and reality, leaving me slightly disappointed. Tourist Attractions: 1. Daweishan Forest Park. It costs about 20 yuan to take a taxi from the hotel to the ticket office, and the ticket and sightseeing bus package is 80 yuan. If there are many people, you can negotiate with the taxi driver to charter a car to the top of the mountain for 150 yuan round trip, saving the sightseeing bus fee. The park is divided into A and B lines, and if you usually exercise, walking both lines won't be tiring. Unfortunately, most of the time it was foggy, and I couldn't see the sea of clouds. 2. Dripping Water Layer Waterfall. It is about a 15-minute walk from the hotel, but it should be noted that when taking the elderly, the descent requires a ten-minute walk down all stairs. 3. Tien-Yue Railway Zigzag Bridge. I couldn't visit this time as I didn't drive, but it's about an hour and a half by car. If you have the chance, you must go and pay homage to this bridge built with lives. 4. Dripping Water Miao Village. It's right next to the hotel, and there are bonfire parties every Friday and Saturday night at 8 PM, the busiest time in this small town. 5. If you are still here on Monday, you might as well experience the Baihe Town Train Market. Food Recommendations: In the county, you can try eel rice noodles at "Huimixiang", Shuangshuang BBQ, Wang Yan BBQ, and more. This small town, rich in history, ethnic culture, and natural scenery, is waiting for you to savor it.
