Casimir Castle in Przemysl

A castle erected after 1340 by King Casimir the Great on the Castle Hill towering over the city on the site of an older stronghold. The relics of the rotunda and palatium - buildings from the reign of Bolesław the Brave - are exhibited in the castle courtyard. The castle, thoroughly rebuilt in the 16th century in the Renaissance style, houses, among others, theater hall of the Dramatic Society of Aleksander Fredro - the oldest amateur theater in Poland. In the vicinity of the castle, it is worth visiting the beautifully situated Castle Park, which dates back to 1842. #poland #castle #przemysl
