Datang Everbright City Pedestrian Street, located at the foot of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Yanta District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, was established in August 2002. It starts from the North Square of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in the north, reaches Kaiyuan Square in the south, Ci'en East Road in the east, and Ci'en West Road in the west. The street is 2100 meters long from north to south and 500 meters wide from east to west, with a total construction area of 650,000 square meters. It is the only large-scale Tang Dynasty-style architectural complex pedestrian street in the country with the culture of the prosperous Tang Dynasty as its background, and it is a landmark scenic area in Xi'an. Datang Everbright City takes the culture of the prosperous Tang Dynasty as its background and Tang-style elements as its main theme. It has four major squares: 'Big Wild Goose Pagoda North Square,' 'Xuanzang Square,' 'Zhenguan Square,' and 'Leading the New Era Square.' It also has four major cultural venues: 'Xi'an Concert Hall,' 'Shaanxi Grand Theater,' 'Xi'an Art Gallery,' and 'Qujiang Pacific Cinema.' Furthermore, there are five major cultural sculptures: 'Datang Buddha Culture,' 'Datang Heroes,' 'Zhenguan Governance,' 'Empress Wu's Entourage,' and 'Kaiyuan Prosperity,' making it the prime location for showcasing and experiencing Xi'an's Tang culture. On April 29, 2019, Datang Everbright City Pedestrian Street was listed as one of the first batch of 11 pedestrian streets in the country for renovation and upgrading pilot projects. In July 2020, Datang Everbright City Pedestrian Street was selected as one of the first batch of national demonstration pedestrian streets.
