National Day trip to Taoyuan Village, Qimen.

On the first day of National Day, we set off at 6:30 am, heading for Taoyuan Village, Qimen. From Jixian Road, we took the city ring expressway. There were already many cars on the road, but we were able to maintain a good speed. After transferring to He'an Expressway, there were even more vehicles, and it seemed like there was an accident. Following the navigation prompts, we turned onto Deshang Expressway, where there were significantly fewer cars. We passed through many tunnels and took a break in the middle. We arrived at the inn before 11:00 am. Taoyuan Village is an ancient village in Shanli Town, Qimen. It features traditional Hui-style architecture. The village is characterized by its numerous ancestral halls, with seven said to exist. We visited three or four of them, which is already a considerable number given the village's size. It seems that the Chen clan was quite wealthy back then. There is a special feature in the ancestral hall: the wood carvings depict a phoenix above a dragon. There is only one inn in the village, located at the highest point. In the morning, it is pleasant to walk down the stone steps and wander around the village. There is an ancient camphor tree in the village, said to be the sacred tree when the village was founded. This is worth seeing. The trunk is very thick, requiring several people to encircle it. The tree is still strong and healthy, as if it were in its prime. At the entrance of the village, there is also a covered bridge worth seeing. We have seen many ancient bridges, but not an ancient covered bridge. We can imagine that the person who built this bridge not only considered connecting the two banks, but also thought of providing shelter from the wind and rain. This is truly a great merit! Not far from Taoyuan Village, there is another ancient village called Pancun, which also has guesthouses.
