#travelersvoice #museums #myitinerary #romeitaly #botanicalgarden #botanicalgardens #travel #rome During a very hot August day I wandered into the Rome Botanical Gardens. It is located in Trastevere and is behind the Corsini Museum. The botanical gardens are quite extensive and contain a large collection of tropical and sub tropical plants and cacti from all over the world. Compared to other botanical gardens of the world it contains the richest history of archeological sites. 🪴In between the cacti and trees there is a range of Roman sculptures and fountains. There are greenhouses that date back to Baroque times. 🌵The gardens were developed during the 18th century by Christine of Sweden who resided at the Villa Corsini. The Corsini can be seen from the gardens. 🪴The Corsini greenhouse contains a valuable and rare collection of succulents. The Japanese Gardens, Bamboo Grove and Palm Trees are beautiful and wild parrots and rare butterflies can be seen here. 🎨A really lovely picnic and drawing trip can be made on a hot day. There are plenty of water fountains and playful birds offer peaceful contemplation away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I had a peaceful and restful afternoon at the Botanical gardens in Rome. It was lovely to sit in the sun and enjoy the sound of the birds in the trees. Roma has a beautiful secret garden you can enjoy all to yourself. I hope you enjoy my images of the Botanical gardens. Please feel free to leave a comment. #urbanparks
