What better place to go white-water rafting for the first time than on the tallest commercially rafted waterfall in the world? While visiting Rotorua on New Zealand’s North Island, my dad and I had an unforgettable experience rafting with Kaituna Cascades. Our guide, an American with plenty of experience, joked that it was only his second day on the job. Even though he warned us that rafts frequently flip going down the falls, ours didn’t, thanks to his clear and skilled instructions. Everyone in the group was safe and sound.
