TUGU MUDA SEMARANG

Commemorating the 5-day battle in Semarang, the Semarang City Government on November 10, 1950, built Tugu Muda as a memorial. This Tugu Muda monument was inaugurated by President Soekarno on May 20, 1953. This historic building is located at the meeting point of the Semarang City protocol road which recorded many important events during the five days of fighting. Tugu Muda has a shape like a candle that contains the formulation of the fighting spirit of the fighters to defend the independence of the Republic of Indonesia will never go out. The shape of the young monument is a monument with a pentagon cross section. Consists of 3 (three) aspects, namely the base, body and head. On the side of the base of the monument there is a relief. The entire monument is made of stone. To strengthen the former monument, create ornamental ponds and gardens around the monument. To beautify Tugu Muda, a park was built around Tugu Muda. In this park, some ornaments are given so that the young monument can be used as a city park, including above the fountain, white and yellow lights that will add to the elegant impression at night. In the garden there are cypress trees, duplication of sharp bamboo weapons standing in a row of 5 (five) pieces depicting the five-day battle in Semarang armed with sharp bamboo. At the foot of the monument there is a relief with five pillars, which, apart from being used to describe various types of relief, also serve as symbols of Pancasila.
