The oldest wooden building in northern Fujian.

The main hall of Baoyan Temple is the main existing building, facing south, with an area of about 400 square meters, a double-eave hip roof, and a height of 18 meters. The bracket set design of the main hall is unique, using lotus arches. The entire building does not use a single nail and is completely assembled by mortise and tenon structure, showing a high level of architectural craftsmanship. The interior of the main hall preserves the colored paintings of the Song and Ming dynasties. The painted characters, flowers, dragons and phoenixes are the handwriting of Ming Dynasty painters Yan Zongru and Shangguan Boda, and have high artistic value.
