Charmingly Primitive Old Town in Shaoxing 🎋

Anchang Ancient Town is located in Shaoxing county, near Hangzhou’s Xiaoshan district. The waterway is narrow and strips across the town with old Chinese style houses on both sides. The town looks charmingly primitive with its old stone bridges, walkways and local specialties such as the yellow wine, Anchang sausages and soy sauce roasted duck. It’s also a living area where I saw elders watching TV, playing majiang or preparing the town’s specials. I also spotted a cobbler at work 👞 For the first time, I saw boats rowed by feet🛶🦶There are also a bunch of restaurants, shops, teahouses and a Starbucks 🤭 The town isn’t overwhelmingly commercial which makes it a nice place to visit if you want to stroll around a place with a more traditional vibe of the Chinese lifestyle.
