Shuozhou Old City Catholic Church | Gothic architecture, very magnificent, beautiful scenery with few people, free to visit

Next to the Confucian temple in the old city of Shuozhou, Shanxi, there is a Gothic-style Catholic church, which is very magnificent and free to visit, with beautiful scenery and few people, let's go and take a look‼️ The Shuozhou Catholic Church has changed its location three times. It was originally located about ten miles south of Shuocheng District in Xin'an Village (formerly known as Mixi Ma Village), and was built in 1879. It was burned down during the Boxer Rebellion in 1900; in 1913, it was rebuilt on the same site under the supervision of an Italian priest, in Gothic style, facing south to north. The complex included a presbytery, a minor seminary, a nunnery, a Redemptorist congregation, a brewery, a carpentry shop, and a school, covering an area of 170 acres with 385 rooms. The bell tower was destroyed in the 1960s; it was rebuilt in 1990 at the northwest corner of Shuozhou Normal School; in 2000, due to inconvenient transportation and communication in Xin'an Village, the church was moved to its current location in the old city of Shuozhou. The current Catholic church was built in 1998, facing west to east, adopting Gothic architectural style, 40 meters long, 16 meters wide, and 12 meters high, with two bell towers each 32.8 meters high. The bell towers are towering and the carvings are exquisite. The altar inside the church is elegant, solemn, and inspiring. 🎫Ticket: 0 yuan 🚗Transportation: Drive there, there is a free parking lot at the entrance of the church
