A day at Si Satchnalai Historical Park

60 kms from The ancient city of Sukhothai, lies Si Satchanalai. Si Satchanalai, which literally means "City of good people", was founded in 1250 as the second center of the Sukhothai Kingdom and as a residence of the crown prince in the 13th and 14th centuries. It is located on the banks of river Yom. With the total area of 45.14 square kilometres,this historical park extends over Si Satchanalai. Among 278 ancient monuments that are already surveyed, those of major importance include Wat Chang Lom, Wat Chedi Chet Thaeo, Wat Nang Phaya and a few more temples.
