This is not a lake, this is not a lake, this is a river, this is the Jinsha River.

❤️ The Jinsha River is the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. It originates from the Geladandong Snow Mountain, the main peak of the Tanggula Mountains in Qinghai Province, and flows through Qinghai, Tibet, Sichuan, and Yunnan. After reaching Yibin in Sichuan and converging with the Min River, it is called the Yangtze River. The Jinsha River is also the boundary between Yunnan and Sichuan, with Yunnan on one side and Sichuan on the other. 💚 The Jinsha River got its name because of the abundant gold sand along the river. It is said that "gold is born in Lishui, and silver comes from Zhuti." It is also recorded in Han Feizi that "gold is born in Lishui," and Lishui was the name of the Jinsha River before the Song Dynasty, which was changed to Jinsha River during the Song Dynasty. 💙 The Jinsha River basin is mostly surrounded by mountains, and land transportation was not developed in ancient times, so water transportation was mainly relied on, and most towns were built along the river. Not only the Jinsha River basin, but also the mega cities in the Yangtze River basin, such as Chongqing, Wuhan, Nanjing, and Shanghai, were built along the river. 🧡 The Jinsha River used to be turbulent, but in recent years, the country has built four giant hydropower stations, Wudongde, Xiluodu, Baihetan, and Xiangjiaba. The hydropower stations need to intercept the river for power generation, and the reservoir area along the river after interception looks more like a lake than a river, which is the so-called "high gorge out of the lake." 💜 This is the scenery of the Jinsha River reservoir area taken at the door of my house.
