Chongshan Temple is located in Dilianggong Street, Yingze District, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, separated by a wall from the Confucian Temple and Chongshan Shrine. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the government has allocated funds for the maintenance of Chongshan Temple many times, and has sorted out and identified a large number of historical relics in its collection. The existing main building structure is from the Ming Dynasty, facing north and south, 119.2 meters long from east to west, 71.7 meters wide from north to south, covering an area of 8547 square meters. Now there are mountain gates and the Great Compassion Hall on the central axis, with bell and drum towers on both sides of the mountain gate, bell and drum pavilions on both sides of the Great Compassion Hall, and east wing rooms on the east side, which is one forty-sixth of the original temple. However, there has been a large-scale renovation project inside Chongshan Temple recently, and the entire Great Compassion Hall is being renovated.
