A thousand years in one glance - Taiyuan Northern Qi Mural Museum.

The Taiyuan Northern Qi Mural Museum is the first thematic museum in China built on the original site of a mural tomb. The museum showcases exquisite murals from the Northern Qi period unearthed in Shanxi Province, with the murals in the tomb of Xu Xianxiu of the Northern Qi as the main focus. The tomb of Xu Xianxiu preserves more than 300 square meters of murals from the Northern Qi period. The large area, high level, and good preservation of the murals are rare both in China and abroad. The murals in the tomb of Xu Xianxiu are representative works of the highest level of painting at that time. They fully reproduce the luxurious life scenes of the high-ranking officials and nobles of the Northern Qi, and accurately reflect the social relations between various characters. They are extremely rare visual historical materials for the study of the social history and culture of the Northern Qi, and have special research value and analytical space.
