Hometown of a Famous Chancellor: The Liu Bowen Hometown and Baizhangji Memorial

The Liu Bowen Hometown scenic area is located in the national-level ecological county of Wencheng, Zhejiang Province, covering a total area of 4.81 square kilometers. It consists of two core scenic areas: the Temple of Liu Ji and Baizhangji. With a beautiful ecological environment, profound cultural heritage, rich folk customs, and distinctive regional characteristics, it is a comprehensive tourism, leisure, and vacation destination that reflects the interplay of human and natural landscapes and integrates diverse cultures. The Baizhangji scenic area is situated in Huangzhuang Village, Baizhangji Town, Wencheng County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, 4 kilometers from Wencheng County and over 100 kilometers from the urban area of Wenzhou. The scenic area covers 105 square kilometers and is abundant with waterfalls and pools. In 2018, the Baizhangji scenic area began to renovate and upgrade its tourism infrastructure. The three main scenic areas are composed of the Liu Ji Hometown scenic area and the Baizhang Flying Waterfall scenic area, characterized by magnificent waterfalls, peculiar peaks, beautiful lakes, pretty pools, and numerous cultural landscapes. In 2009, the Baizhangji scenic area passed the national 4A-level tourist attraction evaluation. In 2010, it passed the Zhejiang Province ecological tourism scenic area evaluation. In July 2022, Wencheng Baizhangji was selected for the second batch of famous mountain parks to be constructed in Zhejiang Province.
