Met ten baby mountain goats at Cascade Pass

📍 Cascade Pass and Sahale Arm Trail 12 miles, 4000 ft, 2.5-hour drive from Seattle On the way back from summiting Sahale Mountain, we took the classic North Cascades National Park hike, Cascade Pass and Sahale Arm Trail (you can see my other post for the Sahale Mountain summit, highly recommend Boston Basin Trail) Along the trail, you can see surrounding peaks and lots of mountain goats. We saw at least 20, nearly half of them were babies. These goats aren’t afraid of people and ran right beside the trail, so adorable. We also saw several chubby marmots. This trail is long and gentle, with switchbacks that make you question your life choices. But you don’t have to go to the end of the trail to turn back and still enjoy beautiful views. Don’t go off the trail; the alpine meadows are fragile, so please don’t damage them. Parking is limited, so try to arrive early.
